Angie’s story
Every morning—rain, snow or shine—you’ll find Angie and her two daughters out on a BOB run. She’s pulled by the instinct only a mother knows: to care for herself physically and mentally so she can best care for her children. Read more
A couple of years ago, on top of coping with the challenges of being a new mom, Angie had to lose 95 pounds. She had been pregnant with quintuplets, all born extremely prematurely and barely weighing a pound. Mary and Lindsey were the only survivors. To keep up with the 24-hour-a-day demands of premature children, and to not put too much strain on her own body, Angie had to lose her pregnancy weight.
Thanks to her BOB stroller, Angie is able to get outside everyday with her girls, no matter the conditions. Every parent remembers handling their baby like a fragile porcelain doll, especially their first. To Angie’s delight, she discovered that the BOB safety harness keeps the girls secure and happy. What makes Angie most recognizable to her neighbors is that spot of yellow in the distance. At first, they couldn’t make out what the yellow spot was on rainy or snowy days. But as it got closer, everyone recognized Angie and her girls in their BOB stroller with a bright yellow BOB Weather Shield on, keeping Mary and Lindsay warm, and dry.
Getting started, Angie could barely walk a half-mile. But with the need to lose 95 pounds, and knowing the best way was to get outside and move every day, she kept her commitment. Now, months later, Angie enjoys a run every morning with her girls, running for more than just weight loss. As she and every mother knows, losing the weight isn’t the only challenge that comes with motherhood, “If I was frustrated, or had something on my mind I was struggling with, I could get out there and run, and felt like I was giving it all to the pavement.”
With parenthood being the biggest challenge in Angie’s life, she knows that maintaining a healthy mind, body and spirit is essential to a strong family environment. Angie credits the fact that getting her girls out in her BOB stroller everyday has allowed her to be a better mom.
