New apartment is **** tiny and I need to work out some storage options.

If anyone feels like earning then a place in my new world order, once I rule the planet, I wouldn't mind one of these (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000077CPK) being sent to me for my natal anniversary. ;)

I've a vaguely similar problem.

You may wish to consider this.

This is an easel I made for holding items I wished to photograph. Obviously the PVC pipe is too small, but the design could be modified perhaps using large pipe.

Secondly, this is (eventually) going to be a stand for my computer and screen so I can type while I'm lying on my recliner chair.*

At present both structures can be disassembled and stored.

Of course you always dust off the cold fusion thermal generator and use the output to lift a hot-air balloon with your bike(s) and a spare anvil underneath, and if anybody complains, just drop the anvil on their house. Sometimes sheer brute force can be so elegant.

but a tad less flashy.

At this point, it would be easier to get the stand instead of having to buy the PVC pipe and tools needed to make the easel...

just punch a hole in the wall and stick your handle bar through that, if your neighbour doesn't like it.....use the bar as a blow gun and get 'im with a spit ball.

Ancient history, a friend from bikeforums got me a free standing rack as a belated birthday present months ago.

It's meant to be in sections and all but I had it welded together for better stability.

At some point I'm filling the curved base pipe with sand.

Hey Marrock, are those hoods on the roadie the ones I sent you?

Yeah, took a bit but I got them to fit eventually and they make adjusting the brakes interesting, but I think they look good so they stay. :D

Oh yeah, thanks to the one that got me the rack, I also have a helmet that fits and a set of these.

I've got a Niterider light and it WAS brilliant....until the globe blew and the bike shop wanted $220au to replace it.

I rigged up a stand for them so we can use them to light the apartment when the power goes out.

And their flash mode is seizure inducing...

Look into the flashing light ... your eyes are getting heavy ... look deeper, deeper ... you are getting sleepy.

Sounds like a good night's entertainment.

What powers them? Battery or generator?

Battery pack with a smart charger, automatically shuts off when it's at full charge.

Also, and this is pretty cool, the button on the battery pack and a spot on top of each light glows blue when they're on, and this changes to red when the battery is at 15% capacity so you're not just just plunged into darkness if they losepower on the road, you get a bit of warning.

During the SBS TV broadcast of Le Tour de France this year these lights were being heavily advertised in the "commerical breaks". I was wondering why they were so expensive.

I used to have a small set up which ran off the generator but when I stopped the bike, a couple of Ni-Cad batteries would take over. Don't know what happened to it, but I thought it was neat.

I'm still futzing about with the LED automotive tail light globes to make a lighting set for my recumbent electrike. The idea is to have them mounted on the seat beside/above my head so that the illumination will cover my legs and feet, thus vehicles approaching from the side will be able to see me, not just the pool of light on the road.

Possibly even mount one on the front of the BoB so my whole trike is illuminated.

They also work great as flashing strobe lights at dance parties.
