I've been wondering about this ever since I bought the BoB, and that's whether my Dahon fold-up (which I use to tow the Bob for local shopping) would fit into the BoB. Well, I bought an El Bolso bag for the Dahon and tried it this morning.

Voila.

So for someone who really WANTS to travel that way (NOT me), it's possible to trailer the "Bike-in-a-BoB" to the airport, fly someplace, unpack the bike, hook up the BoB, drop the backpack in and ride away.

I've now got the option of attaching the BoB to my trike, putting the fold-up in the BoB, riding to the local bike shop, dropping off the trike and the riding the BoB home with fold-up attached, or perhaps vice versa.

Sweet.

Very nice. This is good information for the Dahon folks who like to travel with their BOB's.

Well, here it is, the bike-in-a-BoB-on-a-Trike.

Yesterday I finished fitting some more solar panels (doubling the power) to my elec-trike, and decided to take my Dahon fold-up to the local bike shop to have some new cranks and pedals fitted.

The BoB carried the Dahon beautifully, and when I'd finished the 8 km (partly uphill) trek to the shop, the voltmeter was still showing 26 volts, meaning that the batteries were close to fully charged. (And as you can see from the photo, the sun was out in force.)

What a system! It actually works.
