You may purchase a new fork, which incorporates the new hook/pin design, and it will be compatible with your older-model trailer. This fork retrofits to all pre-2000 Yaks by drilling out the trailer frames pivot tab with a 3/16” drill bit and then attaching the new fork assembly. Our new fork uses a 6mm bolt to retain it and the older trailers used a 5mm bolt to attach the fork. If you have an older trailer, you will need to enlarge the hole in the pivot plates to 6.2mm to accept the new fork. In most cases the replacement fork you require is the standard length fork that works for wheel diameters up to and including 700c. We also stock a longer version (Yak 28) for those using their trailers on mountain bikes with 29" wheels or bikes with 700c wheels and full-wrap fenders.
