We weren't able to to come up with the back rent here and doesn't look like we'll be able to any time soon.

So, from what I hear, paperwork's already been filed and it looks like both of us here will get to live in the van for the foreseeable future.

Never thought it'd get this bad... I don't know what to do anymore.

On the plus side I hear freezing to death is relatively painless.

Cynical ol' me has never been a great Xmas fan (I must have Scrooge-ish flavoured genes) but I do like to hope that with the start of the new year, things will get better all round.

I had a minor win today. As an old-age/disability pensioner I get free public transport (whoopee!!), but since I can't walk very far there's no point taking a bus to the city, 'cos they don't allow buses into the shops any more. I managed to get a bag to put my fold-up Dahon bike in which means that I'm now able to take my bike on the bus free (off-peak) so I can ride around the city. But I can't ride the Dahon in the department stores.

And I haven't found a way to fold up the BoB.

Rats!!

Ah, well, grateful for small gifts I should be.

Now if only I can find a way to get my bouncy-boots into the bag with the bike ...

Well...you're not the only one on the verge of being homeless.....I am staying in a motel in Virginia Beach. But am working anyway. Come on down and join me. Work here is relatively decent. few layoffs with the shipyards still operating.

I would except that it's not just me and I have no way to get down there, my clapped out old minivan wouldn't make the trip.

We found an apartment here with cheaper rent but we can't cover the security deposit for it.
