Pregnancy and Newborn writer shares her BOB experience

“The true test of the Revolution Duallie came when I strapped in my super-active toddler and received an enthusiastic “yes!” when I asked if he was comfortable. Then he sat happily in the stroller for my entire run, which is very unusual. “  Excerpt from Pregnancy and Newborn’s Good Gear section.

To all those who invented the BOB Ironman I must say “well done!”

Here is our story;
After a great deal of research my husband and I decided on purchasing the BOB Ironman stroller solely for me as a running stroller when we had our first child. Little did we know then, that it would be our only stroller and the best one we ever purchased.

Shortly after purchasing our stroller we purchased a second, lighter everyday stroller. Then we found out we would be moving overseas to Spain. The dilemma was, what stroller do we take? We decided on the BOB since I wanted to have the option of going running while there. We were hesitant because of how much larger the Ironman was. Also, it did not have a swiveling front wheel. But our choice was made. Over the last two years while in Europe the BOB has gone with us everywhere. It has weathered the cobblestone sidewalks in London, Paris, Venice, Florence, Rome, Sienna, Madrid, Marbella, San Sebastian, and Barcelona (where we lived). Nothing was too difficult for it to handle and it handled everything smoothly. Of course, you are all thinking that this is natural; you have created a strong sturdy stroller that you intended to hold up for serious runners (which I also did while in Spain), but what about the fact that I had to haul it up a flight of stairs at least 2 times a day for many months with a child in it. Amazing! you might think. But, what if I told you that often I would have around 50lbs of groceries in it too! This was the case.

Our stroller did suffer some stains by the time we returned back home to America. However, after a good soak in detergent and a gentle wash, the seat looks like new. Even the torrential rains in England couldn’t ruin the fabric.

This all makes for a strong reliable stroller, the envy of all our friends in Europe- who had to purchase stroller after stroller when they would wear out from the cobblestone sidewalks. But there is more, it also went on 14 flights with us and not even the baggage carriers could damage it. Nothing was broken, nothing was bent.

With all of this, add, how comfortable it was for our daughter who slept in it often while we were touring around.

Now it has come to the point where we actually need to purchase a double stroller. This is when I fully realized how great the BOB strollers (and the Ironman) really is. I was cleaning the wheels and the frame in preparation to sell the Ironman so that I can purchase my BOB Revolution Duallie (with 16″ rear wheels) and I couldn’t believe what great condition the stroller is in. It folds perfectly, it rides smoothly, it looks amazing. Your products really are the sturdiest strollers out there. Very few strollers promise and live up the the weight allowance they advertise, but the Ironman did it again and again for us.  70lbs were often hauled in the BOB and you would never know to use it.

Thank-you for making such great products, hopefully I will soon have my new BOB to enjoy running and the great outdoors again.

Tricia, Mark, and Eve (who enjoyed it the most)

Family adventure in Aspen!

I am a consumer and a proud owner of a blue BOB Revolution double stroller. I just wanted to share with you how happy my wife and I are with your product. We bought it in 2006 just before we had twins. We actually saw the stroller for the first time at the Ironman Hawaii expo as I raced there in October 2006. Since then, we have brought it everywhere and used it all over the country in all environments.

This past weekend we put our BOB to the test. We live in Colorado and use it a lot off- road. We used it to get to a cabin which was in the middle of nowhere outside of Aspen, CO. We pushed our BOB up 1000ft. on very rocky, steep, trail from 9,400 ft to our cabin at 10,400 ft for 2 miles. It took us 2 hours with all of our gear and even went over two river crossings and yes, more big rocks. We were spent!  The BOB did a superior job as the shocks and wheels handled the terrain like you would not believe. Most importantly our boys remained safe through the trip and even fell asleep during the most grueling part of the trek. Below are a few pictures taken in route.

Thanks to BOB for making our lives fun and safe!

“In our opinion, this stroller is unmatched in quality, comfort, and ease of use.”

“If you haven’t been sold by the reputation of the BOB name alone you will be hooked by all of its top of the line features for both mom and children. Personally, we think it is worth every penny.” Read what Senior Baby Gizmo Editors have to say about the BOB Revolution Duallie.  Click here for the 5 Star review!
